Utilities

Open Settings → Utilities for chat-library transfers, server-memory management, and app reset. Read the explanation beneath an unavailable action; the app disables operations while conflicting work is active.

Choose Import Chats, select a conversation or library backup, and review its preview. A single conversation import and a full library restore have different effects. See Sharing and backups before replacing your library.

Export All Chats is on the same Utilities screen. It requires at least one chat and is unavailable while responses or tool calls are active.

This frees memory on the configured LM Studio server without deleting downloaded models or local chats.

  1. Confirm the server is configured and reachable. Wait for responses, tools, title generation, and model loads to finish.
  2. Choose Unload All Models and review the server-wide confirmation.
  3. Follow the progress and final result. The app checks the server again to see whether models remain loaded.

If the result asks you to check server models, inspect LM Studio before retrying. An unreachable server or an incomplete unload is not the same as a successful unload. If no models are loaded, there is nothing to unload.

Reset returns LLMster to initial setup on this device.

  1. Save a library backup and keep your server address and token available separately.
  2. Wait for responses, tool calls, model loads, title generation, and file transfers to finish.
  3. Choose Reset App, then review Delete Everything and Reset before confirming.
  4. When initial setup appears, reconnect to your server. Import your backup only if you want to restore those chats.

Reset preserves system permissions, files exported outside the app, and data on your LM Studio server. It does not uninstall models or reset the host.
