Privacy and storage
LLMster connects directly to the LM Studio server you configure. There is no LLMster account or LLMster-operated inference service between the app and that server.
On your device
Section titled “On your device”Chats, folders, messages, drafts, and attachments live in the app’s local library. App preferences are stored locally, and the server authentication token is saved in the device Keychain.
Your devices have separate libraries. Use conversation sharing or library backups when you want to transfer data; do not assume a chat automatically appears on another device.
On the LM Studio host
Section titled “On the LM Studio host”The server receives the inputs needed for your requests, including message text, system prompts, image inputs, and selected integration IDs. It loads models, generates replies, and manages server-side continuation context.
The host’s storage, logging, and configuration are controlled separately from the Apple app. Deleting a chat or resetting LLMster does not erase records on your host.
Speech and images
Section titled “Speech and images”Dialog Mode requires on-device speech recognition. The resulting text is sent to your model server; speech playback uses an installed Apple voice. Image attachments are resized on the device before image input is sent to the server.
“Local” does not mean every input stays on the phone. The point of the client is to send requests to the computer you choose.
Integrations
Section titled “Integrations”MCP tools run through the host’s configured integrations. Depending on the service, a tool can access files, send data outside the local network, or modify external resources. Its own permissions and privacy behavior apply.
Only enable integrations appropriate for the conversation. Render Tool Calls controls visibility, not permission.
Exported files
Section titled “Exported files”A transcript or conversation file can contain sensitive text, reasoning, and tool results. Library backups can also contain image attachments and drafts. Store and share them accordingly, using password protection for library backups when appropriate.
App settings, server credentials, and Keychain data are not included in library backups. Files you export outside LLMster survive an app reset and must be managed separately.
App privacy policy
Section titled “App privacy policy”The Privacy Policy describes LLMster’s data-collection policy. See Utilities for the exact effects of reset and model unloading.
